Personality: Even as a small child, Vallis had been in love with his own appearance. A habit which was encouraged by his sister, and those who helped raise him. Always being praised for being such a beautiful boy. As a result, he is now very narcissistic, and expects people to praise, and admire him, in the same way, that he admires himself. Though he was raised in a time, when women were considered second class citizens, he has a high respect for women, who respect themselves. If they choose to live as trash, he will treat them as thus. However, his idea of holding ones self at a proper level, differs greatly from most peoples idea. He has ridiculously high standards, which he expects people to meet.

Having been raised in a very twisted family, Vallis suffers from a few psychological disorders. He tends to swing from one extreme, to the other, never finding a peaceful ground between them. Sadly, because of the vampires resilience towards drugs, no medication would be able to level him out properly. When in a manic state, he is very sociable, charming, and arrogant. When his mood switches, he loses all confidence, and goes into a hermit type seclusion, wanting nothing to do with people at all. He has been lucky enough, to find himself in a high state, for several years now. Perhaps due to his frequent affairs with women in Spain, and the final revenge gained against his sister. That more than anything, brought him peace.

Personal Background: After the death of his parents, due to a raging plague, that swept through his country of birth, he, and his elder sister Roslin, were sent to live with a distant uncle, by the name of Nero Quintus. An eccentric man, whose ties to the family could not truly be traced. However at that time, anyone willing to take the orphans of plague victims, were not questioned. At the ages of eight, and thirteen, it was not obvious to the children, that this man was indeed a vampire. Nor did it matter, he was truly family. An ancient member of their family, connected to them by generations, through Nero's elder brother. Nero had been closely watching the progress of the descendents of his most beloved brother, and when the time came, to step in, and secure his blood line, he did just that. Vallis, and Roslin were overly spoiled by their uncle, given anything, and everything, that they could possibly desire. Nero was an extremely wealthy man, and their was no limit to the gifts, that he gave his niece, and nephew. Though it was not common to educate women at that time, Roslin was given an education, equal to that of her younger brother, and any man at the time. He wished her to be like no woman that the time had produced. Which she became, in more ways than one. The two siblings grew to be very close. Indecently so. Praising each others beautiful faces, and eventually falling in love. It was likely due to the fact, that they only had one another to rely upon, for emotional support. Though Nero gave them all that they asked for, he was not present in their up bringing. Turning to the aid of Tutors, nannies, and servants to raise them, in a way that was loosely guided by his own hand. Nero believed it was not his place to tend to the children's needs, when he could pay for someone else to do it. The children for the most part, were allowed to do whatever they wished.

Upon turning twenty-one, Vallis met a young women named Margot, who he later married, after she became pregnant with his child. Nero disapproved greatly of the marriage, due to Margots low status, and the fact that Vallis planned to leave his uncles home, to start his own family. It was at this point, that a rift was created in the unusual family, causing Nero to disown Vallis, because of his marriage, and the eventual birth of his son Charles. Roslin, who at her uncles wish, stayed behind, and refused countless marriage proposals, becoming his ever constant companion. While he taught her about their family, what he was, and what she was to become. Roslin too felt abandoned by her brother, whom she had trusted above all others, since they were children. A year after marrying Margot, Roslin came to his home, after writing, and promising that they would reconcile. It became quite clear that those were not her intentions. Roslin had undergone the change, after begging her uncle for the ability to take revenge upon Vallis, for having left them. Using her unnatural strength, she rendered Vallis unconscious, then turned her rage upon his family. Killing both his wife, and child. Believing that without his family, he would return to she, and Nero.

When Vallis discovered what his sister had done, he rode on horse back, to his uncles home, set to seek his own revenge, for what had been done. However, he was no match for the two vampires. Nero ruptured the flesh of his neck, draining his body of blood, until he was a whisper away from death. Roslin whispered into his ear, that he could either die there, and join his wife, and son, or be reborn as a vampire. In hopes that he would one day be strong enough to kill she, and Nero. Mad with grief, and enraged by betrayal, Vallis took the latter option. After he changed, he was kept in the basement of his uncles home, servants were sent to him, for his feedings, but he was never allowed to leave. Five years, he spent in that basement, with no contact with his remaining family, and very little human contact at all. Vallis slowly went insane, due to the isolation. When he was finally released by a sympathetic servant, he went into hiding. Knowing that he was far too weak to face Nero, and Roslin.

It was in this time, that he became very wary of people, due to the years of isolation. Avoiding contact with anyone, if he could, for years. In that time, he trained to become a highly skilled archer, an activity, which he had began as a youth. Vallis trained like a mad man, his desire, and need for vengeance driving him forward. When he returned to his uncles home, he found that Nero had been murdered by Roslin. It had been his sisters attempt to make amends with her brother, paying back a favor, that he had been unable to do himself. Vallis was so shocked by this news, and the shift is his sisters personality, that he could not bring himself to harm her. It was evident to him, that something had taken place in his absence, which made Roslin a weak shell of the woman she had once been. Broken, and quite mad. He decided that this insanity was punishment enough for what she had done... and also, she was his sister... his only remaining family.

Leaving his sister once more, he set out to place as much distance between them, as he could. Spain became his new home, where he lived off of his uncles wealth, which passed down to him, after Neros death. Vallis became a hermit of sorts. Rarely leaving his estate on the outskirts of Seville. When in his isolation, he thought often of Roslin, and whether, or not she crumpled under her own insanity. His mind was still plagued with the question of what had driven her to that point. Though, if he really asked himself, he'd rather not know. He stayed clear of where he believed her to be, wanting nothing more than his solitude to brew, and reflect upon the loses of his life. Given everything that had happened between them, he still loved Roslin. It was because of this love, and his knowing that the two would never be together in a way he desired, that he turned to keeping company with women, in an attempt to distract himself. He traveled the world for many decades. Siring children when the mood struck him. Always beautiful, also pleasing for a time. Some he kept around longer than others. Some he simply discarded after the change had been given. Some lived, some died.

Vallis found himself in Berlin in the late 1920's. The city was heavily populated by humans at that time, but it was not however difficult to find his own kind, scattered here, and there in the city. It was one evening, when he had an encounter with one supernatural, which he never believed he would see ever again, his sister. Roslin had come to the city some years before, and sired a young woman, by the name of Nola. Vallis knew nothing about his sisters childe, but only that his sister seemed to have changed greatly during their time apart. Though he suspected that she was still greatly conflicted, and not entirely normal, there seemed to be a calm, which had settled over Roslin. He suspected that her relationship with Nola had a great deal to do with it. Though the two saw one another several times, after that first night, there was never a warm reconciliation between them. Vallis could never forgive his sister for what she had done, nor could he allow himself to become close with her once more. In his jealousy of the two women, he planted seeds of doubt within his sisters mind. Saying that she would break the girls heart one day, as she had his own. Roslin claimed that nothing of the sort would ever occur, what that she was conflicted by the turn in the twos relationship. This was to be their final conversation. The remaining time spent in Berlin, he never again heard from, nor saw Roslin.

After enjoying quite a few affairs, and seeing two world wars come to an end, he once more felt the strongest pull to find his sister. He had known for some time, that she was no longer in the city. So he left Berlin, following very vague, and weak trail, that he felt that Roslin may have traveled upon. Knowing her taste, and draws, should have been a great help, but alas, he was unable to locate her. Nothing seemed to really hold ground. Returning to Berlin, he contacted Nola, learning about his sisters departure from her. The two at that point decided to search together. Vallis found that he envied the young woman, because she had not been crossed by her maker, as he had. As a form of revenge against his sister, he charmed the girl into his bed, until she eventually fell in love with him. After relocating to New York in 1979, the two were married, more or less. It was far from a happy marriage, as they two quickly began to despise each other.

Three years later, Vallis was approached by a vampire, claiming to be a childe of Roslins. The man claimed that his sister wished to see not only him, but also Nola. Vallis agreed to see his sister, and Nola too showed the greatest interest in discovering what had become of her true love. The two were taken to Craiova, Romania, where Roslin had a rather large home. Occupied by no less than a dozen vampires, all of her own siring. It became clear right from the start, that the vampires had slipped once more into insanity. When it became quite clear that Nola was still in love with his sister, Vallis decided then to was his hands of them all. After murdering his wife in her sleep, he crept into his sister bed chamber. He explained to her, what he planned to do. He would deliver her from this insanity, and destroy all of her childer as well. Amazingly, Roslin took her death willingly, saying that it would render them even. In the early hours of morning, before the sun rose, he fled from the burning home, seeking refuge else where within the city.

For years after the massacre in Romania, he kept a very low profile. In 2000, he relocated to New Orleans, reverting back to his birth name. For years he spent a relatively normal existence, continuing on with his affairs, as if nothing strange had happened some twenty years before. While in New Orleans, he had quite a few dealings with other supernaturals, as the place was a complete hot spot for those none human types. It was through these connections, that he learned of Halcyon, and how a recent departure of a few instructors, and a sudden influx of students had left it in need of elders. Contacting one of the schools scouts, he arranged for a meeting with the Headmaster, and was at that point, offered a place at the school.

Family: Father- Audric Besson(Deceased), Mother- Oriel Besson (Deceased), Sister- Roslin Besson (Vampire, deceased.), First Wife- Margot Besson (Deceased), Son- Charles Besson (Deceased), Second Wife- Nola Besson (Vampire, deceased) Sire- Nero Quintus (Deceased), Childer- Henry Tanner, Lily Anne Grant, and several other childer, both alive, and dead.

Weakness: Weak against sunlight, fire and anything holy. Has a need for blood. Extreme head and spine trauma can kill as much as heart trauma can. Slightly bi-polar, Vallis lives on extremes. His either very out going, or very depressed, and withdrawn. There is no in between with him. This carries over into his appearance as well. He either has his hair very long, or very short. Vallis is also very narcissistic person. Though he does not see this to be an issue, if others were to insult his vanity, it tends to cause him great emotional discomfort.

Magical Abilities: A voice which can enchant, and bewitch those who hear it. This ability does not appear, each time he speaks, but rather when he calls upon it. His voice takes on a haunting, and almost eerie tone, when the power is tapped into. It can also reach pitches, and cause vibrations, which have an odd effect on those who experience it. The effect manifest in the form of hallucinations, disorientation, and some times illness. The ability to read, and manipulate thoughts, implant images, and emotions, were also gifted to Vallis. The strength of his gifts are varied, depending on who he uses them against. Mortals are easy targets, older supernaturals present more of a challenge. Of course, the standard perks that go along with being a vampire.

Any Training: Vallis had his own personal tutor, from a very early age, his education was extremely important to his uncle. An education that he continues to advance to this day, with his love of reading. A highly trained archer, hunter, and pianist. Vallis can also speak about a dozen languages, though he prefers French, and English.

Special Skills: His ability to play the piano is quite remarkable.
